Get the best results in 4 steps

    1. 1

      Pick your mode

IELTS, IGCSE, or General. General mode reports an academic score out of 100 and works for any essay-style writing.

    2. 2

Paste the writing question (optional but recommended)

Adding the prompt lets the AI judge Task Achievement accurately and auto-detect word limits.

    3. 3

Paste your essay — or upload a photo

Typed text or a phone photo of handwriting both work. OCR runs automatically on images.

    4. 4

      Read your report

Score, criterion breakdown, error corrections, a top-band rewrite, and Lexical Engine vocabulary upgrades.

    Pro tips

    • Always paste the prompt — it unlocks accurate Task Achievement scoring and per-exam word-count rules.
    • Use General mode for TOEFL, GCSE, AP Lang, university essays, and any non-IELTS academic writing.
    • Add a Custom Rubric (General mode) when grading against your school or class marking criteria.
    • Open the Lexical Engine tab to see weak-word → Band 9 upgrades across your whole submission history.
    • Use the Print / Save as PDF button to share the report with students or keep for records.
